Arbeidsutvalget i Norsk teaterlederforum (NTLF) peker i denne kommentaren på at de ser debatten om skjevhet og diskriminering i norsk teater i kjølvannet av årets Heddanominasjoner som en mulighet til større bevisstgjøring blant de som besitter handlings- og definisjonsmakt i norsk scenekunst.
Norsk teaterlederforum (NTLF) er et faglig nettverk som består av kunstneriske ledere og direktører ved scenekunstinstitusjoner som er medlem i NTO. I tillegg deltar lederen for NRK Radioteatret. NTO er sekretariat for forumet.
I forbindelse med årets Heddanominasjoner ser vi en relevant og betimelig debatt reise seg. En debatt om skjevhet og diskriminering i norsk teater. Norsk teaterlederforum tenker denne debatten handler om mer og annet enn hvilke prestasjoner som blir fremhevet av årets Heddajury. Vi ser den som en mulighet til større bevisstgjøring blant oss som besitter handlings- og definisjonsmakt i norsk scenekunst.
Mange av oss ser den aktuelle offentlige samtalen som en oppfordring til å reflektere over egen rolle i en dynamikk som trenger et skarpere fokus på representativitet. Denne oppfordringen tar vi imot med oppriktig anerkjennelse og skjerpet ansvarsfølelse.
Vi som signerer dette er et sittende arbeidsutvalg for Norsk teaterlederforum. Vi ønsker og kan heller ikke uttale oss på vegne av hvert enkelt teater, men kjenner et sterkt behov for å uttrykke at vi ser oss selv som adressater i kritikken som blir frembrakt. Vi håper den fører med seg konstruktive ressonnement og ikke minst endringsskapende handling.
